<p>In creating the recent report Youth Readiness for the Future, Gallup polled students age 10-18 on their hope, engagement and well-being. Why those variables? A number of reasons, including that they are indicators of future success, with links to attendance, grades, achievement scores, retention and employment. And they are malleable—so even if a student is not hopeful now, he or she might be in the future.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Two city schools principals were indicted Friday by a Shelby County grand jury for failing to report a student assault last fall at White Station High School.</p>
<p>David Mansfield, White Station principal, and Eric Harris, now principal at East High, failed to report an incident that allegedly left a 17-year-old student bleeding on the floor after being beaten by several students, according to an affidavit.</p>
<p>Harris was an assistant principal at White Station when the incident occurred last September.</p>
<p>&#8220;I would like to make it clear that both principals have my full support, and they will remain in their respective positions as they go through their due process,&#8221; Memphis City Schools Supt.</p>

That question came to me as I read about a case in Arizona. Arizona officials are seeking the names of teachers and schools that took part in a study of the state&#8217;s policies on teaching English, even though those teachers and schools were promised that their names would remain confidential. Needless to say, many in the research community are none too pleased.</p>
<p>The UCLA study found that the state&#8217;s ESL policies were doing more harm than good.</p>

<p>By November 2009, then-Palm Beach County Chief Academic Officer Jeffrey Hernandez (left) had begun to feel the pressure of parents opposed to his policies for turning around schools there.</p>
<p>A consultant hired Monday by the city school board to turn around failing schools in Memphis was driven out of school administration in Palm Beach, Fla., this year after a revolt by parents.</p>
<p>Jeffrey Hernandez, 39, former Palm Beach County Schools chief academic officer, left the Florida district June 30, 13 months after he was hired.</p>
<p>By that time, he had already worked six months here, flying from Miami several times a month on sick and personal days to work for Memphis City Schools Supt.</p>

<p>My question for you today is; Are you in this for the long term? Or are you just spinning your wheels and hopping around from opportunity to opportunity with no system and no long term plan?</p>
<p>You can earn some good quick money from selling the latest hi-tech stuff. Goodness me there is so much to choose from you could do affiliate marketing all day long and if you get good at it you can make some nice money. <st</p>
